If you don’t file your return or if you file an incorrect GST return, it can result in serious consequences such as restrictions on getting input tax credit, restrictions on filing other GST returns or even cancellation of GST registration. How to Filing GSTR-1?
Every GSTIN holder has to file GSTR-1 return on monthly or quarterly basis. The return contains all the information of all outward supplies made during that particular tax period. The GSTR-1 return can be filed on the official portal of GST. Here is the step by step guide on How to Filing GSTR-1 –
- Step 1: Visit the official website i.e. https://www.gst.gov.in/.
- Step 2: On the homepage, you will find ‘GST Login Option‘
- Step 3: After login you will find “Return Dashboard” in the red box.
- Step 4: After you click on the “Return Dashboard” button, a new page will appear.
- Step 5: In this page you have to enter your financial year & click on ‘Search’ button.
- Step 6: Now you have to select the return (GSTR-1) you want to file and click on ‘prepare online’.
- Step 7: Now you have to file all the table of details appearing in front of you.
- Step 8: After filing you need to generate a summary and ensured everything entered is correct.
- Step 9: Finally, you have to click the ”Submit” button and then to file the return click on “File Return”.
File GSTR-1 with DSC or EVC
Once the GSTR-1 return has been submitted successfully, click on “File Return” button. Now you will get two option ‘File with DSC’ or ‘File with EVC. Select any of these two as applicable to file the GSTR1. If you want to file through digital signature, then select ‘File with DSC’ or enter the OTP sent on the mobile number and email address of the authorised signatory for filing through EVC mode. A success message and ARN will be displayed on successful filing.
